Rock you to Hell |
"Leading the rock assault
against the moral majority". This clause you can read on the sticker of
the promo single of the title song >Rock you to Hell<. And I can't
think of a better description. Of course the album starts with just this
song. The sincerest statement of every metal fanatic. And really this tune
is one of the reasons "why rock'n'roll (heavy metal) will never die". The
crown jewels of this immortal hymn are the skilled voice of stephen grimmet
and the heavy and rockin' guitar work, which will establish in your head.
These trademarks are reappearing in all tracks. "When heaven comes down
all who stand in front of me will regret it", and while Steve shouts this
passage your long forgotten anger and will to take vengeance for past betrayals
will grow. It's this rebel attitude mainly meeting the eye in songs like
>Lust for freedom< and >You'll wish that you were never born<."...if
you play with fire, GET BURNED", a simple conclusion but perfectly descripitve
for vengeful hearts. I find myself with a beer (Rothaus!) in the one hand
and the other one raised in the air screaming >Rock me 'till I die<
at the beginnig of the 2nd side. But my personel climax of this LP is still
ahead. It's one of those tracks I can identify with a hundred %. And for
everybody this should be ingratiating, because it's foregone that you'll
loose your heart to a woman, at least one time. And I believe this love
can only be a >Waysted love< because you'll never find a woman with
"no lies" and "no alibies". Describing the women as what they are: the punishment
of the god of lies for the human race. The following and last tune on the
album is simply the implication: "how could I stay and hear you lie... I
want more", and knowing you'll never get more you're damned to "walk alone
again". ... can't really escape your libidinal nature for lifetime... fuck!!!
Hope you could catch most of my thoughts and got willed to be Rocked to
Hell. It's an inevitable experience. Review by Manuel Kempf |
