Manilla Road is nothing but the best epic metal band on this planet! They released their first (private pressed) LP back in 1980 and are still around. Their music only went thru minor changes in all that time (if we leave off the debut which was very "70th" inspired heavy rock), from "Metal" (1982) to "The Courts of Chaos" (1990). Every LP is a must to have, but the the highlight of their carrer is "Crystal Logic" without doubt! It is simply one of the best 3 records of all time and worth it's weight in pure gold, but thanks to IRON GLORY Rec. everyone can buy the CD-version of the album for the ridiculous price of 25 - 30 DM. The LP is also not sooo hard to get and sometimes can be found for a price between 60 - 80 DM. There also exists a european pressing (BLACK DRAGON Rec.) on blue vinyl which is sold for about 50 DM today. If you only hear the first seconds of the furious >Necropolis< you are lost in the magic of these masters of Epic Metal. But really EVERY track on the masterpiece is a classic (expect >Feeling free again<, a rock song that should have never been put on this album...) and the only thing I can say is: Buy this album! Don't wait another second - do it now! Try to get it on vinyl, but at least grap the CD-version! Then build an altar, put the cover on it and the record on the player, kneel down and thank the Metal Godz (and Mark of course) for this to-good-to-be-true metal gem!!! I have heard that even in heaven every sunday god puts "Crystal Logic" on his player and prays to Mark (I would not swear that this is true - but I can imagine it *g*) |
