Häh?? What's that?? >The final Condom< is a totally twisted, torn and mangled keyboard funversion of >The final countdown< (what else did you expect)! After 18 seconds it is over and a great melodic Speed Metal onslaught begins!!! Every track is a killer and fans of the debut-records from GRINDER, BLIND GUARDIAN or PYRACANDA will all stand and applaud to this uncompromised and highly talented young band, I am sure! Best songs among only good ones are the furious and melodic >N.Y.C.< and the fast hypnotising >Ghostrider<. You can feel the passion for metal that was the intension for these guys to record this metal-gem, no thought about being "commercial" or perfect or loved by all. Phaaa - I don't think they cared an inch what others said! They just were obssessed with metal and that after all is what makes a good record and fills it with life, if you understand what I mean. "A Symbol of devotion" is as far from this boring, polished, friendly, bombastic, boring, boring new "metal" than I yesterday from being sober, ha ha!!
The price most dealers demand for this record is still affordable so I recommend it highly if seen! It has a nice cover and a lyricsheet, so this LP is totally satisfying in any point. Two years before the MLP DEFENDER released a 5-track demo called "Atomic-War" that I sadly don't know.
The final words are taken from the "Personal Greetings" from Dirk Bender: A WÜRG to my chief: Fuck you! I don't cut my hair!!! (ha ha - great! Guess he had some serious problems with his chief. More detailed informations in the lyrics of >Senseless Discriminations<... ). DEFENDER RULEZ!!!
