What we have here is one of my favorite records that ever came out of england! ELEXIRs private released debut record is a Epic Metal classic, some tracks remind me on the sacred OMEN!! The LP comes with lyrics-sheet and nice black/blue coverartwork, of course it is rare as hell today. Before the record a single was released ("Treachery") that is even harder to find than the record. I do not know it, if anyone wants to trade it in for some stuff outta my sales-list, let me get your offers!
But know let us focus on the record I originally wanted to talk about: "The Son of Odin": The very first track >The Star of Beshann< is a killer Power Metal Kut with heroic dark melodic vocals and majestic melodies, a real haunting tune of pure steel! The upcoming >Pandora's Box< is even better, the best track on the whole album and a classic epic power metal hymn! Other too-good-to-believe-tracks are the titlesong or >Dead Man's Gold<, making this record a must for Power Metal maniacs!
4 years after "The Son of Odin" in 1990 another record was released by ELEXIR, the average "Lethal Potion" (featuring Clive Burr - but no good tracks). This one is easy to find, but only offers melodic metal with few highlites. Better start hunting "The Son..."
