Founded in 1982 in Sannois, DEMON EYES deliver typical european 80ies Heavy Metal. "Rites of Chaos" has a nice cover (from the idea it's the same as INFERNAL MAJESTY did a few years later), the soundquality is okay but not really good, as we expect it from Ebony Records. The vocals of P. Masson are not bad - but they are also not outstanding or very good, just average. And average is the songmaterial on this debut. The record is not to rare, it comes up from time to time so it is still affordable. It is much sought after and will not be a disappointment to 80ies metal fans, if you do not expect a total classic. Nice piece to add to your collection, not more, not less. Best tracks are >Demon Eyes< and >Unyielding strength of Death<. The songs have english titles as you may have noticed, but the lyrics are completely in french, a lyricsheet is not included (Ebony Records was always very "economical" in this point, ha ha). To sum it up I think it is a nice record but it sounds a bit outdated - NwobHM fans will represent a completely different opinion in this point.
In 1987 they released their second album "Garde a Vue", in 1988 the 7" "Fantomas" and in 1990 the LP/CD "Out of control". All these records are mega-rare french-only releases in minor quantity, I never saw any of them. But my little spies (agents of metal) told me that all this records are weak and not neccessary to have, no reason to have sleepless nights...
