Hard to find is always the same for 80's Metal stuff from France, and it doesn't have nothing to do with this "Les Violons De Satan" completed by one of the top notched French Metal heros, HIGH POWER!!!! This ultimate Metal monument is their second album from 1986 and a collection of ideal works!! Unfortunately all Sydney releases are known as quite scarce records nowadays. HIGH POWER's self titled first one is not as hard as another, due to reissued CD, but also a great effort and a very recommended item as well. Make a long story short, with all poor sound quality, here is no weak song, on top of that, every songs can knock you down ruthlessly with their melodies filled with the pathos and arrangements in grandeur. Undoubtedly the album has at least two highlights on itself, each sides. Those are "Le Dernier Assaut" on side 1 and the title song "Les Violons De Satan" on side 2, long running but structured well and effectively incorporated clever arrangements. However, any other songs are also quite impressive and intriguing even the only ballad styled song at its best, "Par Le Sang Et L'acier". This sorrowful ballad (theme of song is never weak!! because "Par Le Sang Et L'arcier" means "For Blood And Steel"!!) is dramatically played with superb melodies and moody singings. It will certainly hit and move you!! I mustn't forget to mention about singing in French words goes well with this kind of song!! You will love it! so you should let the search begin!!! Koushi
